Before returning to college basketball plans, Muurinen spent time playing professionally with Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. He appeared in 14 games this season, including six in EuroLeague competition.
He also represented Finland’s senior national team and averaged 6.6 points in eight games during last summer’s FIBA EuroBasket. Earlier, he played in the 2023 FIBA U16 European Championships and posted 16.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
Most recently, he played for the World Team at the Nike Hoop Summit, where he scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 15 minutes.
