NCAA Baseball Regionals 2026: Florida Among 16 Hosts

The 2026 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship is officially taking shape after the NCAA announced the 16 regional host sites for this year’s postseason tournament. The selection marks a major milestone for several powerhouse programs while also creating history for emerging teams such as Kansas and West Virginia.

The NCAA Division I Baseball Championship remains one of the most competitive events in college sports. This season’s tournament will feature 64 teams battling for a place in the prestigious Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

Regional games will run from May 29 through June 1. Each regional includes four teams competing in a double-elimination format. The winners will then advance to the Super Regionals scheduled for June 5-8.

  • Mississippi State – Starkville, Mississippi
  • Florida State – Tallahassee, Florida
  • Alabama – Tuscaloosa, Alabama

UCLA enters the tournament with the strongest record among host schools at 51-6. Georgia Tech also impressed with a remarkable 48-9 campaign.

The Southeastern Conference dominated the host selections with seven regional sites. The Atlantic Coast Conference followed with three hosts, while the Big Ten secured three locations as well.

Florida Gators Earn Their 20th NCAA Regional Hosting Opportunity

One of the biggest stories from the announcement involves the Florida Gators. Florida secured its 20th NCAA Regional hosting honor and will welcome teams to Condron Family Ballpark in Gainesville.

The hosting selection highlights another successful season under Head Coach Kevin O’Sullivan. The 2026 tournament marks Florida’s 13th regional host opportunity during O’Sullivan’s leadership era.

Florida finished the regular season with a 39-18 record and built strong momentum entering postseason play. The Gators won 10 of their last 12 games while capturing three consecutive SEC series victories.

Their performance against elite competition also stood out. Florida posted an impressive 15-7 record against Top-25 opponents, which helped strengthen its NCAA Tournament resume.

Condron Family Ballpark Continues Growing Legacy

Condron Family Ballpark has quickly become one of college baseball’s premier venues. Since opening six seasons ago, the stadium has hosted NCAA Regional action four times.

Fans in Gainesville are expected to create an electric atmosphere throughout the tournament weekend. Florida’s strong home-field advantage could become a major factor during regional play.

Historic Moments for Kansas and West Virginia

The 2026 tournament also delivers historic achievements for several programs.

Kansas will host an NCAA Baseball Regional for the first time in school history. The Jayhawks enjoyed an outstanding season and earned national recognition with a 42-16 record.

West Virginia also celebrates a rare hosting opportunity. The Mountaineers will host for only the second time ever and for the first time since 2019.

Nebraska returns as a regional host for the first time since 2008, showing the resurgence of the Cornhuskers baseball program.

Florida State extended its legendary postseason tradition by hosting a regional for the 38th time, the most in NCAA history. Texas follows closely behind with its 31st regional hosting appearance.

Several schools maintained recent hosting streaks as well. Florida State, Georgia, and North Carolina each earned hosting honors for the third consecutive season.

Meanwhile, Auburn, Texas, Oregon, Southern Mississippi, and UCLA secured back-to-back hosting opportunities.

Road to the College World Series Begins

The NCAA Tournament bracket announcement will take place on May 25 at noon ET. Fans can watch the live selection show on ESPN as the full 64-team field becomes official.

The committee will establish the entire bracket through the Super Regionals and the opening round of the Men’s College World Series. No reseeding will occur once tournament play begins.

The final destination remains Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, where the 2026 Men’s College World Series begins on June 12.
