Seth Curry has reacted to the latest controversy involving DiJonai Carrington and Sophie Cunningham, mocking Carrington for turning to social media shortly after being ejected from a heated WNBA matchup between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever.
The NBA veteran and brother of Stephen Curry did not focus solely on the controversial foul. Instead, he appeared amused by how quickly Carrington posted on Threads after being sent to the locker room.
Curry shared his reaction through his verified Threads account, writing:
“Threads from the locker room after the ejection is comedy!”
His post quickly drew attention as the incident between Carrington and Cunningham continued to generate debate among basketball fans.
The controversy unfolded during a game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky at the United Center in Chicago.
During the first quarter, Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham attacked the basket on a fast break. As Cunningham went up for a layup, Carrington made forceful contact with her face and neck area.
Cunningham fell hard to the floor. She then immediately got back up and shoved Carrington. However, her teammates stepped in before the situation escalated further, and officials did not assess her a technical foul.
Initially, referees called Carrington for a Flagrant 1 foul. After reviewing the play, however, officials upgraded the foul to a Flagrant 2, resulting in Carrington’s ejection.
The decision became one of the game’s biggest talking points.

After being ejected, Carrington took to Threads and posted the phrase “WHITE PRIVILEGE @indianafever.”
The post added another layer to an already tense situation. It also sparked widespread discussion among fans on social media.
Seth Curry appeared to respond specifically to the timing of Carrington’s post. His comment suggested that posting from the locker room immediately after an ejection was unusual and entertaining.
As the controversy grew, Cunningham also addressed Carrington’s accusation.
Cunningham dismissed the suggestion that race played a role in the incident.
“Oh yeah, we saw it,” Cunningham said when asked about Carrington’s post. She added that she believed the league would handle the matter.
Cunningham also pointed to a similar incident from the previous season, saying she had been ejected in comparable circumstances and accepted the decision.
According to Cunningham, the incident was about the physical nature of the foul rather than race.
She also suggested that the increased attention surrounding Indiana and Caitlin Clark has made Fever games especially prominent.
“When people play the Fever, we’re nationally televised, there’s a lot of eyes on us,” Cunningham said, suggesting that some players may be seeking additional attention when facing Indiana.

Despite the early confrontation, the Indiana Fever maintained their composure and eventually secured a 90-86 victory over the Chicago Sky.
Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 27 points, while Caitlin Clark delivered another impressive performance. Clark finished with 26 points and 11 assists, recording a double-double in the process.
The victory moved Indiana to a 20-12 record and kept the Fever at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
The Fever now turn their attention to their next challenge against the New York Liberty.
Seth Curry’s reaction has added another layer to the growing discussion surrounding the Carrington-Cunningham incident.
Rather than directly debating the foul or Carrington’s “white privilege” claim, Curry focused on the immediate social media response. His short comment quickly became part of the online conversation surrounding the WNBA controversy.
The incident highlights how quickly on-court moments can become major social media stories. With the Fever attracting significant national attention, clashes involving Indiana players continue to receive intense scrutiny.
For now, the basketball world will wait to see whether the league takes any further action following Carrington’s ejection and subsequent social media post.
