Joe Mack also joined the home run parade with a two-run shot in the seventh inning.
Kyle Stowers continued his productive season by driving in multiple runs, while Griffin Conine enjoyed the first four-hit performance of his Major League career. Xavier Edwards and Leo Jiménez also contributed timely hits as seven Marlins recorded at least one RBI.
The balanced attack demonstrated why Miami’s offense has become one of the league’s hottest units over the past month.

Eury Pérez Leads Outstanding Pitching Staff
Miami’s pitching has played an equally important role during its historic June. Returning from the injured list, Eury Pérez delivered another encouraging performance by allowing just one run on two hits across 5⅓ innings while striking out eight Rockies hitters.
Throughout June, the Marlins led Major League Baseball with a 3.01 team ERA while limiting opponents to a .220 batting average and a .639 OPS. Even with several injuries affecting the starting rotation, the pitching staff consistently gave the offense opportunities to win games.

Young Stars Continue to Shine
Miami’s rebuilding effort has accelerated because several young players have developed quickly. Owen Caissie has dramatically improved after a slow April, while Joe Mack has become a valuable contributor on both offense and defense.
Behind the plate, Mack has already thrown out 15 baserunners since making his Major League debut in early May. His offensive production has also surged, posting an OPS above .900 during June after a difficult first month in the big leagues.
The emergence of these young players gives the Marlins optimism that their recent success can continue throughout the second half of the season.
Rockies Eye Series Split
Despite Tuesday’s disappointing loss, Colorado earned a convincing victory earlier in the series and now has an opportunity to split the four-game set.
Veteran right-hander Michael Lorenzen will start the finale for the Rockies. Although his overall record stands at 3-9 with a 6.83 ERA, he showed improvement during June by delivering four quality outings. Lorenzen has also enjoyed success against Miami throughout his career, recording a 2.62 ERA over 18 appearances, including seven starts.
The Marlins will counter with Ryan Gusto, who is still searching for his first victory of the season. After spending the first two months in Triple-A, Gusto has returned to the Major Leagues and shown encouraging signs. While he has yet to complete five innings in a start, he has limited opposing hitters effectively and displayed solid strikeout ability.
Can Miami Carry the Momentum into July?
The calendar has changed, but the Marlins believe their approach should remain exactly the same. Players and coaches have emphasized staying focused rather than celebrating an outstanding June.
A victory in the series finale would extend Miami’s remarkable momentum and further strengthen its playoff position. With young talent emerging, veterans contributing consistently, and the pitching staff performing at an elite level, the Marlins have transformed from one of baseball’s biggest disappointments into one of its hottest teams.
If they maintain the same intensity throughout July, Miami could become one of the National League’s most dangerous contenders during the second half of the 2026 MLB season.
