His comments highlight the incredible firepower Philadelphia has assembled. Brown, Embiid, and Maxey each averaged at least 25 points per game last season. Meanwhile, James has averaged 25 or more points in 20 of his 23 NBA seasons, proving he remains one of basketball’s elite offensive players.

LeBron James Strengthens Philadelphia’s Championship Hopes
LeBron James officially signed with the 76ers on July 24 after considering several destinations, including the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Miami Heat.
Although Durant admitted he had no advance knowledge of James’ decision, he praised the veteran superstar for choosing a franchise capable of competing immediately.
According to Durant, James has always been difficult to predict when making career decisions.
“He keeps things private,” Durant explained. “You hear a lot about him, but you never really know what’s on his mind. I’m happy for him because Philadelphia gives him a real opportunity to compete for another championship. It’s also great for the NBA because so many fans followed his decision.”

The 2014 NBA MVP confirmed that he hopes to represent Team USA during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. If selected and the United States wins another gold medal, Durant would become the first men’s basketball player ever to capture five Olympic gold medals.
Durant emphasized that the final decision rests with USA Basketball management.
“I’ll continue taking care of my game and hopefully receive the call,” Durant said. “There are plenty of great players who deserve the opportunity, so it’s ultimately up to Team USA.”
Durant previously won Olympic gold medals alongside LeBron James in London in 2012 and Paris in 2024. Another appearance would further strengthen his legacy as one of the greatest international basketball players of all time.
